Player: Impaler Subject: how should computer users should be detected? 2009-10-25 11:29:30 |
| is ther a way that chesshere should deal with the ascending number of members using chess software in the CC and RTC section? Is it not about time that some sort of regular system is implemented, not only to detect but also to eradicate this scurge? do you have any opinion in this matter? Should chesshere take exemple on othet sites? | - |

It was a no brainer for me too; Henri DeToi. He can boot me as well; no skin off my neck. | - |

In any event, I don\'t believe he will. He needs the players. It\'s a new site; therefore I presume he will grant us renegades an amnesty. | - |

| Another engine user caught at the \"OTHER\" site where I play.He was 96% compatible with fritz over 40+ games. His defense was that unlike most players who study GM games to improve their chess,he studied computer games to improve his chess. Therefore he played like a computer!Pretty lame,he\'s gone. | - |

| isn\'t studying computer games a myth? | - |

| In his case it was.I think we lost Impaler. He either left or was forced out. | - |

| Studying computer games is not a myth. You can definitely play against a computer and learn but it takes a lot of time.
For someone to say that he has played against a computer for so long that he plays like a computer has to be nuts or he thinks everyone is stupid or both.
If he played like a computer then he probably has an ELO of about 2600 or better and should be on the GM tournament circuit instead of playing on line. | - |

| About catching computer cheats by # times matching Fritz. Yes, but with a little thought.
First we need to eliminate all the \"book\" lines. Then we have to throw out all the \"forced\" or very obvious moves. Now from what is left if an individual matches >90% he is a probable in my mind. So, you have to go back over a number of his/her games say 20 or so.
If he/she still is over 90% then that to me is definite.
A good player will match Fritz maybe 50-60% of the time or higher depending on his strength.
A so/so player less. | - |

I know this is farfetched and probably a stupid suggestion; but it is said that an autistic can reproduce exactly almost an unlimited sequence of numbers and make the most complex calculations. Maybe he could do the same in a chess game Tell it to the judge | - |

| Has there ever been an amazing autistic chess player? | - |
|
124 happyjack | 2009-11-26 09:42:09 |
| Sure has, Czech GM David Navara is autistic and
I believe GM Vassily Ivanchuk is as well. There are probably more. | - |

I just can\'t stand Judge Judy either. She is rude, insolent, discourteous, impolite and disrespectful of the people who appear before her. Hopefully she is not representative of how real judges treat people. To get respect, you have to convey respect. It’s easy to act smart you are in a position of power holding the big end of the stick. What a dim-witted show | - |
