I don't really play much at all, and honestly, I'm not very good. But my friend is Obsessed with chess (not in a bad way) and he invited me to this website. I joined in the middle of 2007 and I've been playing a few games here and there, and I love it! Thanks so much Chesshere.com, you've completely changed my outlook on this game. -Ashleigh2828

My father was a gem maker, then a chemist for 25 years. Before that, he was a professor at the University of Buffalo. Along with radicals in Chicago (who were caught), Buffalo was known for giving you 'wings'- sanctuary from the cops and FBI. His father was a code breaker in WW2 working in all theaters of the war. My Father combined the German and Japanese machines into one codebreaker!

When I was young i did not have much convivence with my father because of his work. One day my mom told me that my father played professional chess in his early years, afer that I started to learn chess by myself, one day my father saw me whit his chessboard and he started to teach me. At the beginning playing chess was my way to comunicate with myu father, but I started to feel the true passion when he told me some about the life of some grand masters. When I was 14 i move on into the United States and I studied chess in a small school where i found some friends. One day I read about Alexander Alekhine, and he was and still being my hero. I started to played seriously at the age of 14, my coach was from Bolivia, I participated in some tournaments over there. Three months ago i return to mexico city, i still playing chess in a serious way. I am kind of new here at chesshere, my rating is 1775 and my best is 1805, in correspondence games i am very bad my rating is 1263 because most of the time i forget to make my move and i ran iout time. I am trying to improve that being more focus and remembering to make my moves on time. In present days i still playing chess with friends in the job or online here (chesshere), i try to read 1 hour cheessbooks everyday and at least to play 3 chessgames. I believe talent will come with hard work, so i consider myself a hard working player, today chess means to me a pice of my heart. Playing chess is a part of me, it have help to know myself, to make me confident, to make me pacient, to make humble, to figh in hard times or hard mathes, i have learn to manage myself in stressful times, etc. i belive chess is a way of living. Righ now i am working to improve my ranking and well honestly my dream is to become a mexican grand master of chess... I know it is very hard but im doing my best.
