What is my ranking?

I am a casual player and can not beat the chess training software on the advanced level about 1 in 3 games. Any idea what ballpark playing level that put me in?

The Elo rating system was invented by Arpad Elo. (ELO is not an accronym as in Electric Light Orchestra). Values are relative and not absolute, and your rating may vary. If you are asking, you probably have an Elo below 1600. The best way to find out is to join chesshere, and after about 20-30 games your achieved Elo will be roughly a correct reflection of your playing ability. Kind regards, blackant.
